In today’s data story I am doing things a bit differently and instead of looking at the beauty and fashion industry, I am researching how people search for coffee and tea.
Let’s look at trends for “Coffee” vs “Tea” in the US for the last 12 months.
Clear preference to coffee with at least 20% higher search demand than tea.
Iced Coffee vs Cold Brew Coffee
While interest in these beverages persists throughout the year there is clear pattern of increase during the summer months. Iced coffee seems to much preferred than cold brew.
Latte vs Cappuccino
The winner here is definitely latte, a topic that increases as we go into the pumpkin spice season.
Chai vs Matcha
Very interesting trend here. Matcha seems to be preferred during the early months of 2023 but it saw some decline. Looks like it is picking up interest again. Chai looked like a very low interest but as we entered the pumpkin spice season chai picked up interest in searches.
Green tea vs Black tea
Green tea seems to be the people’s favorite! While still sparking interest black tea search demand is significantly lower.
Latte Keywords
Here are the top five latter keywords by avg. monthly search volume and keyword difficulty.
